Peel Region taking measures to keep lid on road salt use to protect drinking water

Now that winter has arrived in earnest, Peel Region is being mindful about the amount of salt it is applying to roads and sidewalks and is encouraging local residents to follow suit.

3M plans to phase out the “forever chemicals” used in the manufacture of such products as nonstick frying pans, water-repellent sports gear and cosmetics. The company plans to eliminate the chemicals within two years.


Applications for full funding available for Indigenous students interested in wastewater operations training

The funding opportunity is a partnership between the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). The program is open to Indigenous people with no previous experience in water and wastewater operations.
